Digital Literacy Program for Schools

A Partnership Between Rotary Club of Nairobi-Langata and Rotary Club of Pullman

The Rotary Club of Nairobi-Langata in Kenya has been implementing computer labs in underserved public schools through its Digital Literacy Program (DLP). This project aims to provide access to digital tools, bridging the gap for students in rural areas and preparing them for a technology-driven future.

Key Objectives:

  • Equip students with critical digital skills.
  • Foster innovation and creativity in underserved communities.
  • Contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4, 5, 8, and 9).

Partnership Project: Mwarano Primary School

Through this partnership, we aim to establish a digital literacy lab at Mwarano Primary School, impacting 800 students by providing the following:

  • 26 Desktop Computers
  • Furniture for 26 Computer Stations
  • Internet Connectivity
  • CCTV Cameras
  • UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)
  • Access Control System
  • Roof Repair
  • Teacher Training
  • Digital Learning Content
  • Classroom Refurbishment
  • Alarm System

Total Cost: $36,000 USD
